Q: The drive for housing is likely to create a three-tier planning system. Environmentalists counter the drive with a call for 1/3 of land to be 'rewarded'. That could leave normal planning rules with only one third left in their jurisdiction. So where might the Historic Environment fit into that segmented model? Not so much a 'Garden City Movement' as "Garden Countryside". Do we need Julian Barnes' "England, England" to be built on the Isle-of-White, after all? Or, is a single, unified approach to planning better? Is heritage a theme park or a component of good development, as you hint at with Milton Keynes?

Well I have to give it to the three of you, you have certainly amazed me. I believe the stated topic of this video was the Hancock Dibble debate. Now, the debate itself consisted of Dibble using topics such as ice core testing for industrial traces, Seed evolution of domesticated plants, ship wrecks, How the Spanish influenced Aztec mythology, how he has never implied Hancock is a racist or a white supremacist, what they haven’t so far found in the archaeological record, and his dad was wonderful. Hancock for his part pointed out that he has been called racist and White supremacist, that archaeology hasn’t looked for anything other than what they believe to be the course of history. Joe Rogan pushed back at different times on both of them. That’s more or less it. After the debate, a number of people proceeded to fact check both Hancock and Dibble, and Dibble was found to be dishonest in the presentation of his key arguments, and many videos with textual evaluation of what he said exist. However, listening to you guys, I am given to believe that the debate was much more far ranging, from the bronze age patriarchy to the devastating announcement that the guy who changes her water filters is a flat earther. And the most heinous crime seems to be that Joe Rogan is an anti vaxer… Let me clear a few things up for you: 1. Archaeology has put itself in this position of distrust by its refusal to address the anomalies in the narrative, I.E. the obvious difference in stone masonry at various sites around the world, often incorporated at the same site. 2. When people question Archaeology, its because it has insisted we believe what our eyes tell us cant be true. 3. Pre history means no written record. In such a case, archaeologists can only make assumptions, with the help of a small amount of science. Just because they are making the assumptions doesn’t necessarily mean that they are right. Others can make assumptions with just as much credibility..

I think the British obsession with WW2 is because they have done nothing but horrible things while colonizing the world and have not been successful at building a great country at home. Focussing on WW2 helps to distract from all that. Please learn from history and move on.

Just a small point, as an ex-pat who's lived around the world and am currently in the US. You're not going to get huge change in the American political system. Don't think of Republicans as Tories and Democrats as Labour. The left wing of the Democrats would just about count as Tory "wets" (or whatever they're calling their left these days). As to the Republicans, think of the most rabid bits of Reform and the AfD (Alternative für Deutschland) and you'll get some idea of the situation here. Hope it works out for you gentleman.

Let's hope the new labour government does a much better job than the tories.

As an outsider I can understand the British versus American view on WWII. Americans think that they won it hands down, ah yeah forgot the Russian contribution...... As for the British, this was the high point of thier civilization, it was downhill after that, the empire was gone, austerity was real, near bankruptcy was a reality. The empire was over and the post WWII reality was not positive. WWII was the highlight of the British Empire, the last great moment, so they hang on to it.
